There are two major student bodies within the department. One is the Society of Student Architects (SSA) which is an inhouse body that is responsible for activities within the department. It is also responsible for bringing in Guest Lecturers and organizing inhouse events.
The other student body is the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA). This is a national body, which is responsible for activities between colleges and schools of architecture. It is a body representing in excess of 20,000 students of architecture nationwide. Established in 1957, it has grown in strength from 4 member colleges to its present strength of 75 member colleges and 25 colleges as observer members.
